Roka Hikairo – sworn

Poihipi and I had sheep. They were bought with his money. The boat was bought with our money. The proceeds of sale of my pigs and our wheat - the trap or buggy was bought with our money in equal shares. One horse is alive – one is dead. The horses were bought with our money in equal shares – of the two ploughs – the larger one belonged to Poihipi and his family. The smaller one to me and my family – one third the cost of the smaller one was paid by my brother. There are nine cows. I bought the first one with money from the sale of my own pigs. The eight are the produce of that cow. The gun was the property of Poihipi. He was a great man to work.

Ordered that the widow Roka Hikairo and the nieces Mere and Merania should succeed to the personal property in equal shares and that the buggy should go to one and the gun to the other. The decision of the court respecting the money to remain as ordered yesterday.

Muhunoa No. 3 – continued

Henare roera said we have discussed the matter as directed by the court and desire that the children of Henare roera – Kiniwe and Tauhu be appointed with Kipa to succeed to the interest of Hore Katiroa.

I live at Otaki. I belong to Ngati Tuara of Ngati Raukawa.

I knew Peneti Te Rangiwahitu. He is dead. He was my cousin. He died at Otaki. I saw his burial. He was one of the owners of Wairarapa. He made no sale or other disposition of the land. He left no will. I am his sole surviving relative.

I want to succeed to his interest in this land. All Peneti’s brothers and sisters and their children are dead. I have one sister Rangimurua. I wish Rangimurua to succeed with me.

Ururoa said the geneology is incorrect. I can give it correctly. He tried but failed.

I want to be his succession. I am his nearest surviving relative. He had no children. Ruihi Te Angiangi (f) 4 years old. A niece of Reihana is the only other surviving relative
