Rawinia never came to Kapiti nor yet did Kiripeti. These people got our land at Waikato. Interests in the following lands were allotted them viz
Mangawhaiau – 150 acres
Aukapatia – share in 1000 acres
Kurunui Whaiti – several shares in 150,000 acres
In Aukapatia Terraces sold to the Patatere Company – 5 interests left.
Hakaraia te Whena has 27 acres at Waiorongomai (22 ½ acres in 4B Manawatu Kukutauaki).
Waiorongomai is poor (sandy) land not fit for cultivation. Manawatu Kukutauaki 4B belonging to Rawiri te Rangitekehua is of mixed character, the land for 25 chains is fairly good but beyond that it is stony, swampy and sandy.
Matter adjourned to ascertain the position of the title as to whether Arai te Punga has been made a registered proprietor.
Note: Mr Wilson who investigated state of title says that Arai te Punga is not a registered proprietor.
Court adjourned till the 7th instant.
