Penciled on back: “14 A face-lift being applied to an aging Levin building built in 1936 and used by A. Levy Ltd from shortly after its erection until june of this year (1969 ?). The building is to be divided into 3 shops which have already been let to an electrical company (H.A. Williams) and upholstery firm ( ) and a Wellington firm. Site is Oxford Street South (eastern side) between Felvins (Placemakers) and Keith Davies offices. Friday July 15 1969.”

Renovations taking place on the exterior of the business premises of A. Levy Ltd., Oxford St., Levin, in 1969. Situated on the eastern side of Oxford Street and opposite the Weraroa Domain, this building was built in 1936 The Manager of A.Levey Ltd was Allan Leathem for many years, and they made all the uniforms for the New Zealand Police as well as uniform for the N.Z.Army.
