Shannon School Jubilee, 1939. A group of nine people gathered at the school gates are from left to right:- J.T. Bovis, E.J. Butt (Mayor), W. Clayton, E. Moody (Chairman School Committee), R.J. Law (Chairman Jubilee Committee), W. J. Moynihan, Mrs F. Jamieson, Mrs E.J. Spencer. In the front is Bob Gyde, the youngest school pupil, who cut the ribbon to declare gates open.
