Typed on paper glued to back: “P3. ‘Ashleigh’, Queen Street East, Levin, home of James and Clara Ann Prouse. Group includes the owners with their children (standing): Emma, Percy, Bert, Lance. Two youg children not known. Taken about 1900. Print donated by Mrs Ian Grey, Queenwood Road, Levin (1985).”

‘Ashleigh’ , the home of James and Clara Prouse, Queen Street East, Levin, c.1900. In this photograph the owners of the house are in front of the two storied wooden building with four of their own children, Emma, Percy, Bert and Lance and two other children. Those in the photograph are identified as – Back (standing L – R) – Emma, James, Percy, Bert, Lance. Front (L – R) – unidentified girl, Clara, unidentified girl.This house is still in use (2001)
