Bartholomew House, Roslyn Rd. This wooden house with iron roof and brick chimneys was later known as the Morgan house. Is still standing on the same site, corner of Roslyn Road and Newport Street. In this photograph three people are standing on the verandah of the house which is surrounded by a high wooden fence. This fence was to enclose wallabies which the Bartholomew family kept as pets. The house was built by Peter Bartholomew near the site of his first sawmill in Levin.
