Inscribed on reverse with blue ballpoint pen: “Copy of photograph. Bartholomew Home, 8 Roslyn Rd.” and

“donated by Mr A. Goodwin, 14 Donegal St., Avondale. May 76.”

Also penciled on back: “letter to accompany in research notes.”

Bartholomew Home, 8 Roslyn Road, Levin. This wooden villa faces west and has an iron roof with weandahs facing the south and west. Three chimneys are visable above the roofline. Two women and a man are standing onthe west facing verandah, and the Tararua ranges are in the background. Trees behind the house have recently been burnt off. The high fences in the front of the house were used to keep several kangaroos, which were pets of the Bartholomew family, enclosed
