Hurihangataitoko No.3
Were the ‘hapus’ occupying at Huri hanga taitoko. These cultivations were at Potahi between Maringi Awai and Rangiuru. The land claimed by Tamati was cleared the second year of our being here, by the two ‘hapu’s’. After the fight, Te Tuahu and Huirae went back. The Horo horo ‘pa’ was put up at Potahi. After this, Ngatiraukawa occupied Rangiuru on this side. This was in 1840 after the ‘kuititanga’. After this, I saw Horohau occupying on the land claimed by Tamati. He occupied a house himself and I saw a ‘pakeha’ house there. A store which was not long occupied. It was at the crossings of Maringi Awai.
