Written on back with black ballpoint pen: “Mary Helena Pickering, nee Lena Carlson, born 1897”

Pupils from Levin School lined up by the southern entrance to the wooden building in Oxford Street. (This school opened in 1903). The schoolyard is unsealed and large stones are clearly visable on the ground in front of the group of children.
