Swainson & Bevan Ltd. building on the south western corner of Mako Mako Road and Oxford Street at Weraroa before 1910. The wooden building is two storied and has a coloured iron verandah supported by wooden posts. The shop opens onto the corner of the intersection and a gas lamp is suspended from the verandah above the entrance. On Oxford Street a man is driving a horse and cart, while a man sits astride a horse on Mako Mako Road. Four men stand outside the entrance to the shop, the one in shirtsleeves leaning against the verandah support post has been identified as Walter Bull. Another man stands beside the horse and rider on Mako Mako Road. On the seventh and eigth windows on the upper floor of the building, the words “public” and “library” are inscribed.
