I know this land and it belongs to the persons named in the application and some others.

I claim from my mother’s father who lived and worked on it so did my mother. I have also used this land and have a fence round it. Lately there has been some trouble about the boundary.

I belong to Ngati Kuhingu. I live here and at Waikanae.

My husband is dead. This land belonged to my husband Rawiri Te Wanui and others who know that Hema had no right to this land.

I live at Otaki.

I know this land. It belongs to hema. That is the part called Totaranui belongs to him. I will point out which belongs to Pia Urihu. It is near the stream at the north eastern. I can’t say what the quantity is.

The land where Ngahor lives belongs to this woman. It was the persons who she put on the land who planted the peaches.

Maruau is not the owner of the land next to this woman.

Ahoaho gave the land to this woman’s husband. If the boundary has been altered, she has a right to object. The bush part belongs to Te Kingi the other Hinerau.

Natana Pipito – sworn

I live at Manawatu and belong to Ngati Raukawa.

This woman came with some of her relations to interup this survey. I told the surveyor to go on with the survey.

The land which lies between the boundary of Kingi and Henerau has not been dealt with. This is the same land I think that I wished surveyed. Without going on to the ground, I could not tell which is Hema’s piece and which belongs to the old woman.

Hori Te Wanu – sworn

I belong to Ngati Raukawa and live at Otaki.

I know this land as shown on the plan. The place belongs to us in the notice. This land belonged to my father and from him descended to me. He lived there. I am cultivating there now. No one ever attempted to drive me off.

Rei Parewhanaki – sworn

I claim to be admitted as an owner. This land did not belong to either my father or Hori. It belonged to Wirihana my elder brother who is dead and he was an uncle of Hori’s. Wirihana took possession at the time the Ngati Raukawa. Hori’s claim is through Wirihana.

Enoka appeared to conduct Hori’s case.

Wirihana was not own brother to me. We were by separate fathers and mothers. Whakepera who is dead was Hori’s grandmother.

Enoka Te Wano – sworn

I live at Otaki and belong to Ngati Raukawa.

I know this land. One boundary is between my land and Hori’s. it was originally agreed between us.

Rei has not so good a claim because Hori was nearly related to Wirihana. I was not so nearly related as he therefore I would not claim.
