Mr Booth explained to the court that the government had purchased all the land from the line shown on the plan and the Taonui stream and requested that it be excluded from the judgment.
Watene Ranginui addressed the court on behalf of Ngati Apa.
Hema Te Ao replied for Ngati Kauwhata.
The court after carefully considering the evidence the court informed the parties that Rangitane, Ngati Kauwhata and a section of Ngati Tauere are entitled to the land called Aorangi and the division made at Awahuri as arrived at by the natives themselves is considered by the court as conclusive and the original order by the Native Land Court at Foxton is accordingly confirmed and orders will be issued as follows.
At the request of a large number of the natives the court adjourned until Saturday when the court informed them the names of persons to be inserted in the order would be read out and the orders made at the request of all the natives Tarita Tiweta and Hipera Rangitekoru were admitted in middle Aorangi having been accidental omitted in 1873.
