Momo rauemi:Image
- Description
Written on back with black ballpoint pen: “From Ken Aitken’s booklet of views of Levin.
Though mill is unidentified, it is probably Knight’s Mill, Mill Block, Makahika Valley, which was operating in 1920’s.
Alternative: may be Manakau North Road.”
An unidentified saw mill in the Horowhenua region. Several large logs are under the shelter of a shed which has no walls and some workers appear to have stopped work while the photograph has been taken. In the forground are rails and several sets of wheels used to transport the logs. In the background burnt out trees dominate the skyline.
