Second ferry / punt in use after bridge damaged, Shannon, 1926-27 1 B&W photo print {Fragile, damaged}

2nd ferry (1924 to 1928) operated by Exley Spring and Stan Newth before 2nd bridge built. Corrugated iron shed on side of ferry houses motor used to winch the ferry across the river. Wire from pole on riverbank (left) is connected to undamaged part of bridge (out of photo at right) from which a cage was suspended and used to transfer people and goods across the gap until the ferry came into service.
