Typed information on the mounting card (#s2001.022.0004) states: “Original photo taken by the then (1901) creamery manager, Mr J. Cornwall. His daughter, Mrs D.M. Harding, reproduced the photo as a ‘gift’ to the people of Shannon. Mrs I L Ward of Shannon said that by 1908 J Nathan & Co of Wellington, Wholesalers and exporters of butter owned the creamery that was in Margaret Street and were agents for the Shannon Co-op Dairy Co in Stafford Street.
