Written on back with blue and black ballpoint pens: “Shannon Creamery, 1900, 1901 or 1902. J. Cornwall was the manager then.”

Typed information on the mounting card (#s2001.022.0004) states: “Original photo taken by the then (1901) creamery manager, Mr J. Cornwall. His daughter, Mrs D.M. Harding, reproduced the photo as a ‘gift’ to the people of Shannon. Mrs I.L. Ward of Shannon said that by 1908, J. Nathan & Co. of Wellington, Wholesalers and Exporters of butter, owned the creamery.”

This copy of a black and white photograph is somewhat discoloured.
