Two unidentified girls, aged about 3 years on a wooden rocking horse. The girls are dressed identically in woollen dresses, ankle socks and black shoes. They could possibly be twins.

Buildings destroyed by fire, Oxford St., Levin

People examine the burnt out site of business premises on the western side of Oxford Street. The building to the right was A L Williams’ Tea Rooms and this was sold to Woolworths in 1947 and demolished to make way for a new building. The tea rooms was situated in the northern half of what is now (2001) the DEKA Building.

Walls Bakery

Inscribed on reverse faintly: ” E McLeod Front of original bakery John Walls, Jane Walls, George, Agnes”.

Sepia toned mounted photograph of the front of Walls Bakery, with members of the Walls family and some other unidentified persons. The building is made of slab timber with a half verandah with an iron roof, and large display windows cover the front of the shop, with a smaller sash window set into the wall on the right. Wall family members stand to the far left and are identified as John Walls, Jane Walls, George and Agnes. The man leaning against the verandah post, the man mounted on horseback with a basket of bread on his left arm and the two youths to the right of the photograph are all unidentified persons.

Four unidentified children pose for this outdoor portrait. The three boys all wear jackets and shorts with knee-length socks, and the small girl who shares a seat with one of the older boys is dressed in white with white knee-length socks and brown sandals. The four children are unidentifies but the names “Ian, Ronald, Tommy and Barbara” and their respective ages are written on the back of the photograph.

Possibly the opening of the Plunket Rooms in Clyde Street, Foxton. A group of dignitories is seated on the porch of the roughcast and timber building and a man stands to the right, addressing the crowd of mostly women and children in the foreground.

Farewell to Mrs Stuckey

Group of men, women and children formally dressed, sitting and standing in front of a wooden building with a wooden roof. This was the occasion of a farewell which was put on by the Levin Tennis Club for Mrs Stuckey prior to her leaving Levin for South Africa. The date of the event was 28 February, 1913
