Formal photograph of Major Kemp, Te Rangihiwinui Keepa, dressed in his military uniform with his New Zealand Cross and the sword he recieved for bravery during the New Zealand War. Major Kemp was of Muaupoko descent through his father and Whanganui discent through his mother.
