Inscription on reverse reads: “This is a photograph of my grandfather’s, Theopholes Easton, home (Hatcham Cottage) built by him in Howan Street – Foxton about 1870. It is still in a wonderful state of preservation and is recorded in the Historical Places Trust in Auckland along with the specifications of the interior. Charles Edward Peterson 18/8/81.”
