Flood threatening bridge at No.2 Dam, early 1920’s
Used in book – “From Bush & Swamp”, page 110 with caption: One of the flash floods, sweeping away everything in its path on the Mangahao River. These floods could occur several times in a week, and it must have been soul destroying for the workmen to see the results of their labour disappear in a matter of seconds.
Also used in book – “Horowhenua County and its People”, page 279 with caption: The same bridge during one of numerous flash floods that interrupted work. PNPL.
