I tried to get the sort of mood of the Tararuas when it closes in and the terrain is freaky.........If you've been tramping you'll know what i mean.I like the dark beauty of that place.

Levin Waiopehu Tramping Club (LWTC) was founded in 1927 and has been an integral part of the outdoor pursuits entered into in the Tararua ranges.

The 120,000ha Tararua Forest Park offers tramping and hunting opportunities at the back door of the urban communities of Wellington, Wairarapa, Horowhenua and Manawatu.

Extends from the Manawatu Gorge in the north to the Rimutaka Saddle in the south.

Established in 1919, Tararua Tramping Club is the longest established tramping club in Wellington.
