The Horowhenua Embroiderers Guild was established in Levin, on the 15th April 1989.

This lace could be either of two things.

1 Machine made. Hand introduced gump thread, a take-off of Buck’s Point. Era around 1860 onwards.

2 Hand made Valence, most unusual to have here in New Zealand.
