China plate (Hong Kong) with colour photo of Jack Kingsbury glued to it, 1979 Plate probably purchased in Hong Kong during trip to U.K. & Europe in 1979 when photo was taken.

Photo glued over original decorative picture. Chinese characters printed at top with Hong Kong printed at bottom, colourful dragon at left and colourful bird with long tail feathers at right, gold trim on rim. No makers mark on back. Has plastic coated wire & spring holding clip to allow the plate to be hung for display.

Jack has his foot on a low brick fence while Trudy is sitting on the neighbour’s low wood & wire fence. Originally a colour print it has faded almost to black & white. Mounted in an ornate moulded oval metal frame.

Jack Kingsbury was a resident of Levin when he died. His personal photograph collection was gifted to the Horowhenua Historical Society.
