k) ‘Shannon’s first power pole at the top of Margaret Street’, early 1924 ? {copy} Used in book – “From Bush & Swamp”, page 116, with caption - It was a great day in Shannon when the first power pole was erected about 1924, and the mayor and councillors were in attendance. Front row: Alfred Hyde, Edwin Butt, Bert Wilkinson, John Bovis, Mr Hudson, Bill Jamieson, Margaret Jamieson (now Cole), Wallace Jamieson. Second row: the mayor William Murdoch (hands on hips), to his right Fred Johnson.
