The Mangaore bus for many years was a small-squat-square shape bus fondly referred to as “The Butter Box” – it was cream coloured – of coarse. The driver of this bus for many years was Mr George Moss …” Also - This book has photo (page 46) of the bus with caption - The “Butterbox” – top of Kingston Road last morning 2nd term 1960. Also - ”... Although horses continued until the late 1940’s buses slowly took over the routes from the 1930’s until today {1989} there are 4 bus routes…”
