Goal of the Project
To create an open source web application, so that communities can build their databases of local resources. Kete will include digitised photographs, documents, museum objects, arts and crafts objects, audio and video recordings, public speeches, and performances of all kinds. Kete Horowhenua is the proof of concept.

Supporters
The Kete project is made possible by a number of groups in our community:
- Horowhenua District Council : Partners in the Kete project, project management, supplier of content and part funder.
- Levin SeniorNet: Partners in the Kete project, project management, software testing and training of volunteers.
- Ross McColl Cars: Loan of a vehicle for getting around the place.
- Horowhenua College: loan of a computer suite for training of volunteers.
- Horowhenua District Growers Association: Part funder and supplier of content.
And there are the many individuals who tirelessly translate page after page of handwritten minute books from the Otaki sitting of the Maori Land Court, or creating digital files of newspaper stories so they will be fully word searchable.
