Opening of Coronation Swimming Baths
- Description
Inscription on reverse reads: “Dear JIm. We have here Levin’s new attraction. The Coronation Swimming baths. This was taken on the opening day and a very large crowd assembled to see them opened. I have taken on swimming and find it a very good exercise. We are having the Levin Show down here this week and also Worth’s Circus so things will be pretty lively. We have got some fine entries for the show this year. Marion is still in Wellington. Will be home next Sat. We are all quite well. Wilf”
This postcard shows the start of the 25 yards race for boys on the day the Coronation Swimming Baths were opened on the corner of Bath and Salisbury Streets in 1911.
