Peke atu ki ngā rauemi
Description

Beginning in darkness deep within the hills, the source of the river amongst the new life and grown of the forest is represented by the koru unfolding. The river flows from the hills and makes its way across the land, past the lake to the sea, bring life to the lands of our district. Also included are Maori motifs to acknowledge Tangata whenua and those who were a part of this landscape in earlier days.
