Foxton Fantastic Festival of Murals will be held again in 2009. 8 Murals, painted by 8 Artists, all over 8 days. Midday Saturday 4 April to brushes down midday Sunday 12th April. The theme for 2009 festival is yet to be decided. Watch this space, details to follow. The Murals themselves are painted on hardboard 4800MM wide by 2100mm high. This will be the third Mural Festival with generous cash prizes.
Seven of the 8 Murals painted in 2007 festival have been sold, all locally and six of the murals have been placed in the township and are on show for all to see.
Two of the 8 murals painted in the 2008 festival have already been sold. They will continue to hang in Mural Park until March 2009, when all Murals will be taken down and new boards placed in position for the 2009 festival.
The Trustees of the Festival see the event as a significant and respected event in the arts community. It is also providing a venue for artists to showcase and develop their talent.
