Description

The pit used for pit firing is first layered with sawdust, then the pots are placed in with salt and copper sulfate. A layer of newspaper was then tucked arouond the pots and more sawdust and woodshavings sprinkled over till all pots covered. Gradually the pit is filled with wood till full then dried branches plced over it to help start the fire. When burning nicely the pit was then covered with corrogated iron and left to burn.
