YOUR MADE-TO-MEASURE SUIT, SIR...4 GUINEAS

On 5th October, 1933, the NATIONAL SUIT STORE next to the Post Office, Levin, took a suit order from Mr Fred Allen of Princes Street, Levin.
Forty eight years later, the same buisness, now known as RENTON SUTHERLAND"S MENSWEAR operates from premises only 100 metres away from the original site, offering the same care and attention as Malvyn Wright did way back in the early thirties.
In Fred Allen's time, a well dressed man knew what to wear-a suit was appropriate for every occasion-The 1981 man has more choice, but in terms of wages he'll still pay about the same for his "best" outfit-say 3/4 of an average weekly wage packet.
The service Mal Wright started in October, 1933, we continue in 1981-nearly five decades later. And we are proud that ours is still an owner-operated store, sharing in the life of our community. It helps us try a little harder.
