The triplets, Robyn, Jennifer and Margaret, are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Read, farmers, of "Five Totaras" Levin. All the girls are schoolteachers and all graduated last December. From left, they are:-
Jennifer, a Horowhenua represntative hockey player, who married Kevin Turner, whose parents are in Australia and were unable to come to the wedding. They are both going to the New Tribes Missionary School at Rongotea.
Margaret, who married Ken Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott of Levin. She will teach in Levin, where her husband is a saw doctor.
Robyn, a former captain of the Horowhenua representative hockey team, who married Gordon Lawrence, son of Mrs. and the late Mr. T, G. Lawrence, of Lower Hutt. Gordon is a teacher, at Taita College. His bride will also teach in the Hutt Valley, where they will make their home. The service was conducted by the Rev. N. C. Gibson and Mr, M. S. Lane. There were 340 invited guests and more than 400 people waited in the church grounds.
The Brethren Church was too small to accommodate the large assembly of guests and onlookers and the wedding was held in the larger Presbyterian Church. The three couples have chosen different parts of New Zealand for their honeymoons. The mother of the triplets, Mrs. Read, made the three brides' gowns and the three wedding cakes. As far as can be ascertained by checking with the Registrar General there has been no other triple wedding of triplets in New Zealand within living memory. (Photograph: C. H.
