Visit of Bluejackets at Levin Railway Station
Object type:Image
- Description
Laser copy. Negative held by Alexander Turnbull Library.
Visit of Navel ratings (Bluejackets) to Levin. The ratings are in ranks facing the Levin Railway Station which is situated at Weraroa, and a large crowd forms a square around them taking up the width of the road. There is a group of mounted servicemen on horseback, some civilians on horseback, two women in a horsedrawn gig and a number of people appear to have travelled to the occasion on bicycles. It is possible that the boys from the Training Farm are the group who are standing facing the ratings.
Caption reads: “Boys Training Farm Wereroa – Visit of Bluejackets Levin Station”
