Page 4 – Shannon School – 3 b/w photos

Top to bottom - a) ‘Shannon Public School. 5182 Wilson photos’, 1917 or 1921. {copy} Amount and type of building material indicates recent construction. The building as shown had final additions completed in 1917. The new Infant ‘School’ was constructed in 1921 some distance to the right of this building. Used in book – “Shannon School Centennial Souvenir 1989”, page 9, with caption - Shannon School between 1921 and 1930.

b) Mr Bill Rowling and Mrs Tirikatene-Sullivan visit Shannon School, 22 March 1978. {original} Mr Rowling was Leader of the Opposition and Mrs Tirikatene-Sullivan was M.P. (Southern Maori) at this time.

c) Pupils of 1940-1944 at 85th Jubilee, Shannon School, June 1974. {original} Used in booklet – “Combined Jubilee 1974 – Shannon School & Shannon Rugby Football Club”, page 56.
