Description

Foxton Foreshore Reserve beside the Manawatu River. This photograph is attached to white paper with the following inscription: – “The Foxton Foreshore Reserve. This quiet spot was once the site of the bustling Port of the Manawatu. It served as the gateway to the Manawatu for early settlers travelling by sea. Although the water flowing through Foxton was diverted because of a drainage scheme, the area still has potential for the development of a marina to provide safe mooring for pleasure craft.”
