Used in book – “From Bush & Swamp”, page 57, with caption - A group of children gather outside the home of Mr and Mrs O. Harrison, which was also Shannon’s first permanent post office. This is now the site of the public library and Horowhenua County Council office. The present post office was built to the left of this building in 1911.
