Shannon Post Office, c.1907 1 B&W photo print, copy

Pictured (Left to Right) – Mr E. Kear, Mr Octavius Louis Harrison (Postmaster) and Mr C. Dunkley.

House built by Mr Harrison in 1898, he was also appointed postmaster that year. Additions to building were later made by Post and Telegraph Department who later purchased the building in 1907 and appointed new postmaster in February 1909. (see book – “From Bush & Swamp”, pages 163 to 167 for brief history of Shannon Post Office.)
