Inscription on reverse reads: “Himatangi”.

Four ships at wharf in Foxton. Each ship is masted but uses steam as an alternative source of power. Railway wagons filled with coal are lined up along the wharf parallel to the ships. A group of three men is in the centreof the photograph. One of ships is believed to be “The Himatangi”.
