Mystery sheep to be sold for charity
- Description
BY PETER FRANKLIN
A mysterious mob of sheep arrived on Bill Wright's Shannon property in May.
Since then he has made numerous attempts to find their owner but without success.
Now he plans to send the nine ewes and six lambs to the saleyards then donate the money to charity.
"I've been to the police and local farmers to see if they have had any sheep stolen but no-one seems to know anything about them.
"None of the sheep have ear tags.
"That makes tracking down the owner even harder," Mr Wright said.
The only thing left for him to do is to sell them at the saleyards and give the money to charity.
Mr Wright found the sheep wandering around one of his paddocks at his Pretoria Road farm.
"I thought about what I could do with them and I've decided to sell and donate the money to the Special Olympics fund," he said.
Mr Wright said since the sheep have been on his property they have been no trouble and they have fattened up but it is time they went.
"I don't know what I'll get for them but whatever it is it will certainly help our local Special Olympians," Mr Wright said.
