"Manawatu Heads - Foxton", c.1930's
- Description
Black and white photograph.
Written below photo with black ink – Manawatu Heads – Foxton.
Stamped on back with purple ink - R.L. Heath Stationer Foxton.
Written on back with black ink – Note the attitude of bathers \?) This one of the Beach was taken on a ‘quiet’ day, by the looks of it. The tide is a fair way up in this photo. The water is rather shallow at this bend, though one is apt to tread on plenty of crabs etc. This is not a very good one of it at all. There are more houses to the left, which the photo doesn’t show. One follows to the right, to get to the breakers or else over the sand hills to the left.
“Manawatu Heads – Foxton”, c.1930’s. This photograph has been taken looking eastwards with bathers in the estuary area (foreground), two boats in the water, and houses along the riverfront.
Black and white photograph.
