G. Wilton and Hannah Ambler stand together in this photograph which unfortunately is affected by light across the middle. Both young women are wering white blouses, with dark skirts and boots. They both have their hair pinned up. Hannah Ambler has been identified from photograph 1977.018.0013

Darcy and Fred Ryder with Major Tatum

Inscription on reverse reads: “L Mr Darcy Ryder son of Fred, Major Tatum, R Mr Fred Ryder (leased Bevan land next door to Tatum). Major Tatum identified by Mr Brinsley Ryder, son of Fred because he said if that is a string and not a watch chain it is Major Tatum because he was forever blowing a whistle and everyone had to come running.”

W. Thorley's House, Tiro Tiro Road

Inscription on reverse reads: “Mr W Thorley’s house Tiro Tiro Rd still standing 1977 although altered considerably. Property owned by Mr Luhrs. Negative in Turnbull Library. W Thorley photographer. See note in the City of Auckland wreck photograph for donation information.”

W. Thorley’s house in TiroTiro Road, Levin. The weatherboad house has an iron roof with a brick chimney and a verandah on two sides of the house. In this photograph two women stand on the verandah and a man with a hoe in his hands is standing in the garden which surrounds the house. A macracarpa hedge is behind the house. This house was still standing in 1977 although somewhat altered.

W. Thorley's House

W. Thorley’s house in Tiro Tiro Road, Levin. The weatherboard house has an iron roof with a brick chimney and a verandah on two sides of the house. In this photograph two women stand on the verandah while a man works in the garden in front of the house. A macracarpa hedge is behind the house which was still standing in 1977 although somewhat altered.

Inscription on reverse reads: “Thought to be local. Negative in Turnbull Library Photographer W Thorley. Suggested Gladstone Rd extension before widening, also southern curve of loop of Wallace Rd Ihakara.”

Native bush is on both sides of a one lane track. Information on reverse of photograph indicates that this is a local photograph and the location is either on Gladstone Road before the road was widened or the southern curve of the loop of Wallace Road, Ihakara
