Qualifications offered

A challenging and exciting course offering NZQA elementary building skills National Certificate Level 2

Course Content includes:

  • Hands on building and carpentry skills,
  • Use of woodworking and electric tools for elementary construction work,
  • Circular saw bench and compound mitre saw for construction,
  • Fastening orders for basic woodworking,
  • Building calculations,
  • Elementary sketches and working drawings,
  • Construct a non-consent timber framed utility building
  • Minor concrete work,
  • Basic residential fencing/timber decking and timber pergolas.

Te Kokiri : Light Engineering

Qualifications offered:

NZQA Light engineering credits Level 2

Course Content includes:

  • Layout and marking off fabrication shapes
  • Cutting, forming and shaping fabrication materials,
  • Assemble and join plate and sheet,
  • Basic units of measurements in engineering,
  • Sheet metal,
  • Gneeric skills,
  • Metal fabrication,
  • Welding,
  • Engineering drawing and sketching,
  • Calculations of length, area and mass of engineering materials,
  • Safe work practices,
  • Basic geometric forms.
