Hamaria canoe on Lake Horowhenua

Three members of the Taueki family in the “Hamaria” canoe on Lake Horowhenua. Woman at left sitting in canoe is Sybil Taueki. Man in centre of photograph wearing a shirt, pullover, dark trousers and a brimmed hat, is standing and holding a spear used for eeling. Man on right is also standing in the canoe. He is bare-headed and is wearing a long dark coat. He is holding a taiaha.

All three persons and the waka are reflected in the lake water.
