Annual Red Cross Dinner for Old Folks. In this photograph those seated on right side of table are from right to left :- Unidentified man, Mrs Toogood (President of Shannon Red Cross), Constable Ross Lawn, Sandra Lawn, Beth Trask, Rev. Ernie Trask (Presbyterian Minister), Mrs Alice Sinclair, Mrs Irene Leng-Ward (seated at table behind Mrs Alice Sinclair, left), Mrs Dorothy Monk (standing at right, near door with exit sign). Other people present have not been identified.

Update provided by Ernie Trask 27/2/2014:

With reference to the photo of me with 'an unidentified woman' when one of my family found this about 10 years ago I wrote asking that the caption be changed. Now another member of the family has found it - still unchanged !

The 'unknown woman' in the photo is Mrs Joan Anderseon. At that time she was Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand and was visiting the Shannon Presbyterian-Methodist congregation in the course of her Moderatorial duties. Joan was the first woman Moderator of the Church and is still one of the few Moderators who was not an ordained minister.
