The Foxton Surf and Lifesaving Club received a Bank of New South Wales award for their patrol work last season. An inflatable in-shore rescue craft is an important part of their equipment. Himatangi Beach is patrolled by the Palmerston North Surf and Lifesaving Club, which last season had close to record membership. A new patrol tower has been erected at the carpark.”
