John Alfred Perreau born in London on 30 October, 1833, came to New Zealand when 21 years of age living in Canterbury and Nelson, farming. He married Anne McKeown in 1869 and came to Foxton in 1876 where their third child Mark Edwin was born in 1879.

Walter Edward Barber, son of James and Elizabeth Barber, was born in Wellington in 1868. His father and his three brothers had four butchers shops in Wellington.

Abraham King was born in Fingrinhoe, Essex, England on 24th February, 1853, the son of Charles and Hannah King. He arrived in New Zealand in 1874 on the ship "Euterpe" on which he was employed as a sailor.
