Mr A. Taylor & Mr Osborne felling giant tree (totara or rimu) at Shannon 1 B&W photo print, copy (faded)

Both men stand at each side of the tree holding their axes against the tree. The tree has been scarfed (undercut) at right ready for backcut to bring thr tree down.
