Small version of an autoclaving drum that was used in the Foxton Maternity Home, 15 Ladys Mile, Foxton.

Used in book by Fran Ellis, 2005.

The maternity wing has queen size beds.I spoke to an ex-head baby nurse and she said that it was a strange thing to have in the wards .. but the reason might be very inportant.
