Ken Mitchell and others in car, c.1920’s. Ken Mitchell is sitting behind the wheel of the car and is wearing a military uniform with a ‘lemon squeezer’ hat. Beside him sits his mother, while Miss Cameron and Jessie Cameron sit in the back seat. Annie Cameron, dressed in a school gym (black serge) stands behind the front of the car. An unidentified woman stands beside the front passenger door on the far side of the car.

Penciled on back: “Moutoa Bridge over Manawatu River 1924.”

See book – ‘From Bush & Swamp’, pages 74-76. First Shannon bridge over Manawatu River. Built 1908 at the former ferry crossing. Badly damaged by flooding 1924. Replacement built further north 1928.
