Beer break for workers building bridge over Mangaore Stream on Hennessy Road, Shannon. Among those in the photograph, J Hennessy is 2nd from the left, and W Moynihan has his back to the camera and is handing out the beer. The baby is James Moynihan who was later a Columbian missionary in the Phillipines.

Manawatu Hotel

Manawatu Hotel from Avenue Road in the early 1900s. Four women a small girl and an infant are on the balcony. A number of men and youths stand outside the hotel along with two men in a horse and gig.
